The Centraalbureau voor Schimmelcultures (CBS Fungal Biodiversity Centre) is an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) situated in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The CBS maintains a world-renowned collection of living filamentous fungi, yeasts and bacteria. The institute’s research program principally focuses on biosystematics, ecology and evolution of fungi. It is also a centre of expertise, advising on mycological problems of a scientific and health-related, agricultural or industrial nature. The institute has approximately 70 employees, including 20 scientists.
